Biography: Mani Kannan is a Doctorate in Biotechnology and works as a SERB-National Post Doctoral Fellow at ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana, Tamil Nadu, India. He holds B. Sc., in Zoology and M.Sc., in Biotechnology. Kannan has 7 years of working experience in insect proteomics and Genomics. He has published more 30 national and international research articles in well reputed journals. Recently, he is worked on identification of chemo-olfactory related genes from antennae of Odoiporus longicollis for design new tool for pest management. He has presented an abstract on Molecular characterization of pupal gut protease from silkworm, Bombyx mori at 7th Asia Pacific Biotech congress, Beijing China. Kannan has completed schooling at Attur, Salem, Tamil Nadu and is passionate about insect pest management which is attacking both plants and animals.
