Title: Water related Internal Displaced People in central and southern Iraq- a model to explore impact of CC and mapping risk for water availability, water quality and IDP

Biography: Dr. Ker Rault combines training and experience in integrated water resources management. Educated as an environmental engineer from Imperial College, he started his career as a process engineer for a drinking water and wastewater company.. After some experience in Iraq and Afghanistan as a WASH Expert for an aid relief NGO, he obtained a PhD in water policy from Cranfield University, UK. The thesis addresses societal complexity to water management (EUWFD): which type of public participation for with type of water management challenges; a wicked process for a complex societal problem? He has considerable experience in participative workshops, questionnaire design, social survey, policy design, revue and evaluation in Africa (Mali), Europe and MENA, as well as in leading projects in remote areas. Philippe contributed to the EU funded projects Globaqua and Mad4Water as WP leader where he developed the concept of participative valuation of ecosystem services. Philippe is now engaged in complex integrated development projects, including IWRM, adaptation to climate change, connecting the potential impact of climate change on water resources, ecosystem services and livelihood (Mali) and IDPs (Iraq), and Water Energy Food nexus for Deltares with a special focus on African counties.
