Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that can interfere with endocrine systems at certain doses. These disruptions can cause cancerous tumors, birth defects, and other developmental disorders. Any system in the body controlled by hormones can be derailed by hormone disruptors. Specifically, endocrine disruptors may be associated with the development of learning disabilities, severe attention deficit disorder, cognitive and brain development problems deformations of the body that includes breast cancer, prostate cancer, thyroid and other cancers; sexual development problems such as feminizing of males or masculinizing effects on females, etc.

Metabolic syndrome refers to the presence of a cluster of risk factors specific for cardiovascular disease. Hypertension (HTN or HT), also known as high blood pressure (HBP), is a loh term medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated. High blood pressure typically does not cause symptoms. Long-term high blood pressure, however, is a major risk factor for stroke, coronary artery disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation peripheral arterial disease, vision loss, chronic kidney disease, and dementia. Hypertension is a risk factor for stroke, myocardial infarction (MI), left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and failure, renal disease, retinopathy, and peripheral arterial disease. Therefore, effective evaluation and treatment of hypertension remains an important medical goal, and understanding the pathogenesis of hypertension through animal models and clinical studies is a critical component.
