Title: A Psychosocial Approach For Effective Self-regulation
Abstract:
Self-regulation is considered a foundational mechanism for addressing events and challenges in everyday life. Self-regulation allows us to move forward from adversity and maintain calm when under pressure. It is a much-needed skill set for achieving balance in one’s life roles. Individuals with poor self-regulation typically struggle with managing their day-to-day activities, which includes their ability to efficiently perform their work and successfully balance expectations.
Occupational therapy through the utilization of a psychosocial approach has shown to be an effective method; particularly for individuals with emotional challenges, such as ADHD, GAD, and LD. Occupational therapy interventions incorporate the use of sensory integration strategies for best outcomes.
