Session and tracks-:

Track 1-Glycoscience-:

Glycoscience is the  study of simple  and complex carbohydrate metabolism, anabolism and it’s structure and function. Glycans are found in all microorganism including prions and also in higher organism. This interesting diversity makes the study of glycoconjugates highly challenging on many levels. New technologies  are helping to give a future to the glycoscience research field, toward a more rationally integrated discipline along the other side of biological and clinical disciplines as glycoscience becomes akeystone of modern chemical, biological, and biomedical sciences.

Track 2- Glycobiology

Glycobiology is the study of the structure, biosynthesis, of saccharides (sugar chains) that are generally found in nature. Sugars or saccharides are  very essential components for all living things and play a vital role in the field of biology as well as other fields like medical, biochemical and biotechnology fields.

Track 3- Biochemistry-:

Biochemistry otherwise known as  biological chemistry, is the study of chemical processes occur within the living organism and related to living organisms. On the basis of both chemistry and biology ,the biochemistry is divided in to three fields  such as: structural biology, enzymology and metabolism.  Over the last decades of the 20th century, biochemistry will  become a successful field at explaining living processes through these three disciplines. Almost all areas of the life sciences are being developed through the biochemical methodology. Biochemistry focuses on the chemical processes relating to the biological molecules occur within the living cell or organism for understanding the tissues, organ as well as the organism structure and function. Biochemistry field  is closely related to  the molecular biology which is the study of the molecular mechanisms of biological phenomenon.

Track 4- Glycan’s-:

Glycans are chain like structure and it is  composed of single sugar molecules i.e Monosaccharide linked together by glycosidic bonds. The most common examples of Monosaccharides are glucose, fructose and galactose .These are most commonly for the building blocks of dietary sugars and carbohydrates, and are the main source of fuel in most living organisms.

However, in nature many other types of monosaccharides are present and they are joined by a huge variety of sugarchain structure. It is now known that sugar chains are not only a source of energy  but also they have many function in biological systems. The sugar chain structures commonly called glycans and  are usually found attached to proteins and lipids in living organisms. The properties  and role of Glycoconjugates is totally depending upon the constituent of monosaccharide and bonding position and the type of branching of sugar molecule.

Track-5- Glycochemistry-:

Glycobiology along with the arena of proteomics, mainly the submission of mass spectrometry investigation to protein samples, is well-established and increasing quickly. Proteomics readings beside with glycan’s make large volumes of raw experimental records and conditional biological outcomes. To accelerate the propagation of these statistics, centralized facts storehouses have been advanced that make the data and results accessible to proteomics researchers and biologists alike. Experimental analysis of proteomics data repositories concentrates totally on freely-available, centralized data properties that disseminate or store experimental mass spectrometry data and results.

Track 6- Glycans in Diseases and Therapeutics-:

Glycomedicine functions as essential role in cell-cell adhesion i.e. a device used by cells of the immune system through sugar-binding proteins called lectins, which classify precise carbohydrate portions. Glycans (carbohydrate oligomers) are the so-called “building blocks” of carbohydrates, nucleic acids, proteins and lipids play leading roles in various biological phenomena as well as in numerous pathophysiological procedures. Several scientists have now understood that glycosylation, i.e. the count of glycans to a protein backbone, is the most plentiful post translational alteration responses and is a major field of research and sometimes they require a glycobiology method to be exploited.

Track: 7 -Glycans in Drug Design

Glycans are elements having many bio-therapeutic mediators, based on sensible plan to recombinant glycoproteins. The glycan components having the important biological activity and therapeutic potency. Biochemistry and Glycobiology both are having  a multidisciplinary study of carbohydrate-binding proteins (lectins), glycolipids and some selected plant proteins that are  able to  connecting with endogenous(foreign macro molecule). The notability of the research is on protein-carbohydrate interaction and their involvement in signalling procedures in plants or in plant protection. New methods are being available to  shield crop plants against pests and diseases based on the fundamental alertness.

In the nervous system, Carbohydrate rich molecules are  containing glycolipids, glycoproteins, and proteoglycans. They have main roles during progress, regeneration and synaptic plasticity. The structural variety of the carbohydrate portion renders them suited as stage-specific biomarkers for numerous cell types that  leading to mediate interactions amongst recognition molecules. The super structural diversity of glycan chains and associated fraction allows for immense progressive opportunities that can leads to cell interactions alongside with cell matrix interactions.

Track 11-Proteoglycan and sialic acid

Proteoglycan  are  having more than 95%  of carbohydrate by weight. As proteo signifies protein, while glycan signifies sugar or a group of sugars, so proteoglycan is a long polysaccharide chain covalently attached to a protein. The protein element of proteoglycans is made up of by ribosomes and mostly translocated into the lumen of the rough endoplasmic reticulum. Sialic acid is a derivative of nuraminic acid having a generic term for the N- or O-. It is a  type of monosaccharide having a nine-carbon backbone and are found widely distributed in animal tissues, fungi. plants,  yeasts, bacteria in a lesser level.

 Track: 12- Glycopathology

Generally carbohydrate are considered as the main source of structural materials and energy for living organism. Modern investigation  are  successfully concluded that, this zone has concentrated mostly on homopolysaccharides(starch, cellulose, glycogen, and chitin) and some modest sugar. The academicians have lifted their attention on the composite systems like carbohydrates, proteoglycan, glycolipid, glycoprotein which is togetherly known as glycoconjugates ,that glycoconjugates display the reconition marker in  the biological system and other field related to  like biomedical and clinical field during the last few decades. In cancer field the role of glycan and glycoconjugates has been emphasized,if any small modification is in glycosylation then it can tremendously regulate the complete pathway  and mechanism of cancer which can indicates as a biomarker growth leading to several therapeutics development in cancer research.

It can also act as receptors for viruses and other pathogen to enter the cell. Glycolipids are the component of cellular membranes having hydrophobic tail and hydrophilic tail and hydrophilic sugar molecule attached by glycosidic bond.

Glycopeptides are generally  proteins molecule(peptide) that are attached to carbohydrate.Normally they are glycans which are covalently attached to the side chain of amino acid residues to form peptide.
