Ophthalmology Eye Care

Dr Freedman received his medical degree from The Medical School of the Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg South Africa. In 1964, and his PhD in Medicine from the same university in 1975. He received the degree of "Fellow of the College of Surgeons South Africa" in 1969, and "Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh " in 1971 both  degrees by written and practical examinations. He has published over 80 research articles, and is Professor (HS) T Emeritus at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.

Professor Jackson is consultant ophthalmic surgeon at King’s College Hospital and professor of retinal research at King’s College London. He completed his medical degree in New Zealand, a retinal PhD at St Thomas’ Hospital, London, and his ophthalmology residency based in Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he completed his vitreoretinal fellowship. He has about 150 PubMed publications, is author of the Moorfields Manual of Ophthalmology, and has an approximately 6M Euros research portfolio.

Dr (Mr) Shadrokh Nabili completed accredited basic, higher specialist, and advanced subspecialty ophthalmology training in the UK. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and undertook an Advanced Subspecialty Training (ASTO) Fellowship in Cornea. In 2009, he was appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he established the cornea service. In recognition of his contributions, he received an NHS Clinical Excellence Award in 2019. He is also Audit Lead in Ophthalmology at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr (Mr) Nabili is Senior Honorary Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and serves as Clinical Lead in Ophthalmology at The Lancaster Hospital. He holds the prestigious Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate (Civil) and is a Certified Expert Witness and member of the UK Expert Witness Institute.

Dr. Ismail Zaitoun is a researcher at the McPherson Eye Research Institute, United States, with a strong interest in advancing vision science and ophthalmic research. His work focuses on innovative approaches to understanding eye diseases, visual function, and translational eye research. Through his research and collaborative efforts, Dr. Zaitoun contributes to the development of novel strategies aimed at improving eye health and patient outcomes.

Prof. Dr. Andrea Allmendinger is the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at ten23 health AG, a Swiss contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused on parenteral drug products. She is also an Adjunct Professor and Group Leader at the University of Freiburg, where her research centers on innovative parenteral drug formulations and device solutions that enhance stability, usability, and overall product performance. Prior to joining ten23 health in 2021, Dr. Allmendinger served as Principal Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development for parenteral products at Roche in Basel (2010–2021). She studied Pharmacy at the University of Heidelberg and University College London, and earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Basel. In 2025 she was appointed Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Freiburg and has extensive expertise in the development of high-concentration and freeze-dried parenteral formulations, lyophilization processes, and combination products. From 2021 to 2024, she served as Editor-in-Chief for the AAPS Open journal.

Dr. Russell Phillips is an independent researcher and practitioner affiliated with the McKenzie Clinic in Australia. His work focuses on advancing clinical practice through evidence-based approaches and ongoing research. With a strong commitment to professional development and patient-centered care, he actively contributes to improving healthcare outcomes within his field.

Dr. Lori Roberts-Hauser, OD is a respected optometrist, practice owner, and healthcare leader dedicated to advancing clinical excellence, patient care, and professional education in optometry. She is the owner of Aiken Eye Care in South Carolina, where she provides comprehensive eye care services with a focus on preventive vision care, glaucoma management, pediatric eye care, and community outreach. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in promoting high standards of clinical practice and expanding access to quality eye care services.

Dr. Roberts-Hauser has held numerous leadership positions within professional optometric organizations, including serving as President of the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association (SCOPA) and as a member of the SECO International Board of Trustees. She currently serves as Secretary of SECO International, where she contributes to advancing continuing education, professional development, and scientific collaboration for eye care professionals. Recognized for her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to the profession, she continues to support initiatives that strengthen optometric education, improve patient outcomes, and foster innovation in vision care.
