Paula Gawryszewska is D.Sc. Eng. at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Wroclaw. She received her M. Sc. in Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. In 1998 she received a PhD in Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Wrocław in the group of prof. Janina Legendziewicz. Then she spent 6 months (1998/1999) at Michigan Technological University (MTU) in the group of prof. James Riehl, where she dealt with polarized luminescence of racemic mixtures of lanthanide complexes. In the USA she stayed twice more on short stays in 1999 and 2014 in MTU and University of Minnesota Duluth (prof. J. Riehl). Her scientific interests include coordination chemistry, luminescent materials, energy transfer in lanthanide compounds, plasmon-enhanced fluorescence.

Dr. Anjan Biswas earned his MA and Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of New Mexico, USA. Subsequently, he completed his Post-Doctoral studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado, USA. Currently, he works as a faculty member in Mathematics at Alabama A&M University that is located in Normal, Alabama, USA. His current research interest is in Mathematical Photonics. In particular, he focuses on the propagation of solitons through optical fibers along trans-oceanic and transcontinental distances. He concentrates on soliton perturbation theory, quasi-stationary solitons, quasi-particle theory, variational principle as well as semi-inverse variational principle that are all applicable to the study of optical solitons.

David Laroze is Full Professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Tarapacá (Chile). He is the Director of the Laboratory of Mathematical Modeling at the University of Tarapacá. Previously, he was a Research Associate at the Physics and Astronomy School at the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom), and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Germany). He has published more than hundred manuscripts in journals and conference proceedings, including 97 articles in journals indexed in the Web of Science – Journal Citation Reports such as Macromolecules, Scientific Reports, Physical Review B, Nanotechnology, Atmospheric Research, Plos One, Journal of Chemical Physics, Communication in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulations, Physical Review E, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer. He has been advisor of several Bachelor and PhD students as well as mentor of Postdoctoral Researchers. He has participated in the scientific and in the organized committee of national and international conferences and serves as a reviewer in many international journals. He has been obtained several grants as Principal Investigator as well as a co-Investigator. Nowadays, he is member of the Chilean Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and Editorial Board member of the journal Current Research in Nanotechnology & Nanoscience. Currently, he is interested on nonlinear phenomena, magnetism, radiation problems, hydrodynamic instabilities, and thermal and electronic transport in quantum systems.

Moustafa H. Aly has completed his PhD at the age of 34 years from Alexandria University and postdoctoral studies from Stracthclyde University (Scotland). He is professor of Optical Communications at College of Engineering, a former dean of engineering, Arab Academy. He has published more than 245 papers in reputed journals and specialized conferences. He is a co-supervisor for more than 125 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, who already obtained their degrees. He has been serving as a reviewer of many ranked journals.

Ana Doblas received her BS, Ms.and PhD degrees in Physics from the Universitat de València, Spain, in 2010, 2011 and 2015, respectively. After she finished her PhD work, she joined the Optical Coherence Imaging Laboratory under the supervision of Dr A. Oldenburg (Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of North Caroline in Chapel Hill, U.S.A.) where she did her 1-year Postdoc. Since 2016, she is at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Memphis (Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A.). Firstly, as a Research Assistant Professor in the Computational Imaging Research Laboratory (CIRL) and since 2019 as an Assistant Professor and principal investigator of the Optical Imaging Research Laboratory (OIRL). Her current research interests are focused on optical engineering, computational optics and three-dimensional imaging with special interest in the design of novel microscopic imaging systems and their applications. Her final goal is to develop novel optical microscopes that provide us an understanding of unsolved biological questions. Although this topic requires multi-disciplinary approaches from different backgrounds such as Biology, Physics, Microscopy and Informatics, her particular focus is the development of custom optical imaging methods with some insights in image analysis tools to pursue cutting-edge research. Since 2012, she is author of 23 peer-reviewed scientific journals, her work has been presented at over fifty international conferences and she is co-inventor of two US patents.

Professor Ibrahim Abdulhalim is with the Electro-optics and Photonics Engineering Unit at Ben Gurion University since 2005. He worked in academic institutions and companies such as OCSC in UC at Boulder, the ORC at Southampton University, the Thin Films Center of the University of Western Scotland, in KLA-Tencor, Nova and GWS Photonics. His current research activities involve plasmonic and photonic biosensors, liquid crystal devices for imaging, biomedical imaging, optical metrology and energy devices. Published over 200 articles, 2 books, 10 chapters and inventor on 20 patents. He is a fellow of IoP and SPIE and an associate editor for the Journal of NanoPhotonics and for the Journal of Imaging. In 2014 he established Photonicsys Ltd., a company specialized in developing miniature plasmonic and photonic biosensor.

Shien-Kuei (Peter) Liaw received double PhD degrees from National Chiao-Tung University in photonics engineering and from National Taiwan University in mechanical engineering, respectively. He joined the Chunghua Telecommunication, Taiwan, in 1993. Since then, he has been working on optical communication and fiber based technologies. Prof. Liaw joined the department of Electronic Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in 2000. He has ever been director of the Optoelectronics Research Center and the Technology Transfer Center, NTUST. He was a visiting researcher at Bellcore (now Telcordia), USA for six months in 1996 and a visiting Professor at University of Oxford, UK for three months in 2011.

Ephraim Suhir is on the faculty of the Portland State University, Portland, OR, USA, Technical University, Vienna, Austria and James Cook University, Queensland, Australia. He is also CEO of a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) ERS Co. in Los Altos, CA, USA, is Foreign Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Engineering, Ukraine (he was born in that country); Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Society of Optical Engineers (SPIE), and the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS); Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), the Institute of Physics (IoP), UK, and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE); and Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Ephraim has authored 400+ publications (patents, technical papers, book chapters, books), presented numerous keynote and invited talks worldwide, and received many professional awards, including 1996 Bell Laboratories Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) Award (for developing effective methods for predicting the reliability of complex structures used in AT&T and Lucent Technologies products), and 2004 ASME Worcester Read Warner Medal (for outstanding contributions to the permanent literature of engineering and laying the foundation of a new discipline “Structural Analysis of Electronic Systems”). Ephraim is the third “Russian American”, after S. Timoshenko and I. Sikorsky, who received this prestigious award. This year he received the 2019 IEEE Electronic Packaging Society (EPS) Field award for seminal contributions to mechanical reliability engineering and modeling of electronic and photonic packages and systems.

Dr. Shai Maayani is a postdoctoral associate at the Research Laboratory of Electronics, MIT. Nominated for the 2017 Fulbright post-doctoral scholar fellowship. Dr. Maayani works in Prof. Yoel Fink’s multi-functional fibers research group. He holds a BSc, MSc in Electrical Engineering and Physics and a Ph.D. titled “Cavity Optocapillaries” from the Technion – Israel. Dr. Maayani was awarded the Ministry of Science, Technology & Space, applied science and engineering scholarship for Ph.D. students. During his Ph.D., Dr. Maayani has demonstrated the first water-walled optical resonator operating at CW (Nat. Comm. 2016), where it became the first water wave laser (Nat. Photonics 2016). Currently, in his postdoctoral research, he focuses on the engineering of functional fibers to enable investigation of new phenomena at the nanoscale. Recently, Dr. Maayani published a paper demonstrating the first fully-integrated fiber able to measure faint magnetic fields in a distributed manner (Laser Photonics Rev. 2019).

Rozalina Zakaria received her B. Sc (Hons.) in Physics in 2000, Master in Applied Physics from University of Malaya in 2002 and later a PhD degree in Laser Physics in 2009 from University of Hull, United Kingdom. She has been involving in teaching many subjects namely; Fundamentals of Matter, Experimental Methods, Optics, Thermal Properties of Materials, Photonics Materials and Devices and Photonics and Optoelectronics. She joined Physics Department after her PhD before transferred to Photonics Research Centre since 2015. Her research interest includes fundamental and applied aspects of fundamental nanophotonics such as optical fiber sensors and solar cell. Her career is spanning over than 7 years which has resulted in the graduation of 3 PhD students and 5 Master students. She is now supervising 4 PhD’s students.

Karthika C is a senior research fellow pursuing her Doctorate in physical chemistry at Inorganic and Physical Chemistry Department, Indain Institute Of Science, Bangalore, India. She obtained her Masters in chemistry in 2013 from University of Calicut, India. Currently she is working on the second harmonic quantification of organometallic complexes and manipulation of molecular properties using external stimuli. The research work involves synthesis, electrochemical measurements and second harmonic measurements. Her research interests are quantum mechanical calculations, spectro-electrochemistry and non-linear optics. She has presented abstract on redox switching of first hyperpolarizability of transition metal complexes at international conference on photonics, 2018 held in IIT Delhi.

Dr. Yogesh Kumar Sharma is working as a Professor and Head, Department of Physics, Government Post Graduate College, Ranikhet (Almora) affiliated to Kumaun University Nainital (Uttarakhand) India. Dr Sharma has participated in 43 international and national conferences and presented his paper. He has over a 49 research papers in reputed journals with good number of citations. Dr Sharma has worked as a senior scientific officer in Physics at IIT Delhi India, Assistant professor in physics at JNV University Jodhpur India and Associate Professor in Physics at Govt. P.G. College Rudrapur, India.

Dr. B. Deva Prasad Raju at Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupati currently working as Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics. He has published over 70 research papers in reputed journals having average Impact Factor around 2. His work has 1686 citations and his h-index is 25. He is also serving as Reviewer for several international SCI journals. He completed three major research project funded by DST, New Delhi, DAE- BRNS Mumbai. Currently, he has been executing one major research project funded by DST, New Delhi and simultaneously supervising 9 Ph.D. students.

Lutfi Ali Mahmood is an Assistant Professor in Laser – physics in one of the private universities in Erbil-Iraq. He holds a PhD in physics from Loughborough University of Technology, U. K - 1985. Lutfi has 40 years of teaching experience in different public and private universities in Iraq. He has also supervised 2 PhD and 15 Master students. He has presented and published several papers. Lutfi is teaching both under and post-graduates different subjects including General physics, Mathematics, Biophysics, Mechanics, Quantum mechanics, Lasers and Optics.

Dr. Anupma has her expertise in solving and analyzing nonlinear partial differential equations arising in mathematical physics. She has done her Ph.D from Thapar University, Patiala, India in April 2013 and published several papers in SCI listed journals. In the past times, she has solved some significant models such as Calogero Degasperis equation, potential Kadomstev Petviashvili equation, Klein Gordon Schrodinger equation. She has participated and presented papers in various International Conferences. Now she is conducting collaborative research activity with Dr. Anjan Biswas, Alabama A & M University, Alabama and have made remarkable developments in locating soliton solutions to a class of nonlinear partial differential equations those arise in nonlinear optics

Born on 5th July 1972. Received M.Sc., Ph.D. degree from Pune University, and M.Phil Degree from Algappa University (TN). Second Ph.D pursuing from Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad India. Presently working as Associate Professor in Physics and Head of Department SAE Kondhwa, Pune-48.

Shuhei Kodama is an assistant professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and technology in Tokyo, Japan. He holds a Bachelor and a Master in Engineering and received a PhD in Engineering from Tohoku University in March 2019. Dr. Kodama is working as an assistant professor from April 2019. His research activities focus on short-pulsed laser-induced periodic surface structures (SPLIPSS) to clarify principles and phenomena, to control LIPSS and to provide a material surface with various functionalities such as reduction of friction, water repellency, anti-reflection and bioaffinity. He gave 9 presentations and 1 lecture about SPLIPSS at international and domestic conferences. Dr. Kodama is passionate about precision processing.

Gagandeep Kaur,Teacher and researcher by profession and works with one of the top ranking engineering education institute in INDIA i.e. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala. I joined Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology in the year 1997 just at the age of 21 immediately after completing B.Tech (Instrumentation and Control Engineering) from National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. so I too have grown up with TIET Academically and otherwise. Along with the teaching I improved my qualification by pursuing M.Tech (Instrumentation and Control Engineering) and Ph.D. from TIET,Patiala. I love interacting with the students informally. Therefore. the knowledge which they gain in the classroom I support them to implement in the projects. I get good results because I believe that students have immense capability to realize their dreams. Team Oorja is the result of this believe. I am President Of Institution of Engineers (Thapar Chapter), Enactus (Thapar Chapter),Adventure Club, Thapar University Model United Nations(MUN),NSS and team OORJA(renewable energy and e-vehicles design team). Also I am part of experiential learning group in the Institute. I am also having Special purpose certificate from Trinity College, DUBLIN to train the university faculty for teaching, curriculum design and modern ways of learning i.e student centered learning (Train The Trainer).

El-Mallawany, served as a research group leader for New Solid Material for Technological Applications by synthesize and measure the optical, electrical, thermal and mechanical properties of new non-crystalline solids in 4 decades for new applications in therapy, radiation shielding and renewable energy, published more than 100 international articles in solid state physics (Cited many thousands times), taught physics for undergraduates & postgraduates for nearly 4 decades and supervised & examined more than 50 Ph.D. & M.Sc. thesis at national and international Universities. Also, he cooperated with 15 American, European and Asian Universities. Invitation to give several seminars in the area of expertise by The European Office of Aerospace Research & Development (EOARD) to visit US Air Force Facilities (1993 &1998). Moreover, El-Mallawany is a book author, editor, reviewer, editor in international Journals, consultant for Arab Universities for evaluation of the scientific work leading to Professor and Assistant Professor in Physics, member of the universities strategic planes and awarded 3 national awards

Monia Najjar received the M.S degree in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D degree in Optical Fiber Communication from the High School of Engineering of Tunis. She joined the High Institute of Computer Sciences of Tunis El Manar (ISI), as Associate Professor, in 2004. In 2017 she became full Professor. Her main research interests are optic communications, passive optical devices, photonic crystal structures and WDM networks.

Olimpio Pereira de Sá Neto have a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Federal University of Piauí (2007), a Master's degree (2009) and a PhD (2013) in Physics from the State University of Campinas. Currently I am Adjunct Professor 3 rented at the Computer Science Coordination of the State University of Piauí - Campus Alexandre Alves de Oliveira. In this institution, in addition to the disciplines taught, I have developed research involving dissipative quantum effects and measurements in circuits.

Huige Di (1981- ): female, Professor, graduated from Shanghai Institute of Technology Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. Main research interest includes lidar technology for atmospheric and Optical system design.

Dr Amin Malek Mohammadi is an experienced researcher with thorough discipline in Silicon Photonics, Design, Fabrication, and Data Analysis. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of Engineering Council (CEng), IET and Optical Society of America (OSA) has published over 90 scientific research papers, a postgraduate textbook, as well as delivering few keynote speeches at different international scientific conferences around the Globe. Up to now he is the holder of 4 patents on optical fiber communication systems.

Dr. Mahadevappa Y. Kariduraganavar obtained his Master degree in 1988 and Doctoral degree in 1993 from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He joined Flora International Ltd., Bangalore as Manager (Operation). Prior to this, he was also working as Research Assistant Grade-I in the Institute of Wood Science & Technology, Bangalore. In 1997, he joined Department of Chemistry, Karnatak University, Dharwad as Lecturer and was subsequently appointed as Professor of Physical Chemistry in 2007. He did his Post-Doctoral study during 2007-2008 under the prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship Program at J. J. Thomson Physical Laboratory, Polymer Science Centre, University of Reading, UK. He has also established a Collaborative Research Programme with the University of Reading, UK. Dr. Kariduraganavar has participated as a Panel Expert at the International Conference held at Bangkok, Thailand in 2011. In 2002, he presented a paper in International Euro membrane Conference held at London, UK. During this period, he also gave a special lecture on Ion-Exchange Membranes for Electrodialysis Applications at Imperial College, London. In 2013, he presented a paper in International Conference held at Dubai. During 2015, he worked for two months on Tissue Engineering for Bone Regeneration and Shape Memory Polymers at Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), Portugal along with 3 of his Ph.D. students as a Visiting Professor. He was the instrumental and Convener of an International Conference on Direct Digital Manufacturing and Polymers (ICDDMAP- 2015) held at Karnatak University, Dharwad and also he gave an Invited Talk during the same conference. Recently, he has visited Charite University and Max Planck Institute, Germany; Center for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), Portugal along with Vice-Chancellor, Dean Faculty of Science and Director of HRDC, Karnatak University, Dharwad to established the collaborations with these institutes. Very recently, he has given a Keynote Lecture on Smart Biopolymers at International Conference on Advanced Research in Sustainable and Intelligent Manufacturing (RESIM- 2016) held at Center for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal in December 2016. Dr. Kariduraganavar has got two US Patents to his credit on Ion-exchange Membranes for Electrodialysis Applications. One of his patents has got first rank in US patent rankings. He has published around 110 papers in international journals of high repute and 10 book chapters in reputed international books. He also contributed a report on Food, Water, Energy Nexus to be published in UNESCO reports in association with Prof. Seeram Ramakrishna, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. Of late, he is working as Coordinators of UPE-FAR-I and DST-PURSE-Phase-II Programs. The grant of UPE-FAR-I is 11 crores and DST-PURSE-Phase II program is of 16 crores. Also, he is a Subject Coordinator of CPEPA Program, which has grant of Rs. 8 crores. He has already completed 5 major research projects funded by the DST, AICTE and UGC, New Delhi. He is working as Consultant to Padmini Aromatics Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. His major research fields are: Ion–exchange Membranes for Electrodialysis and Fuel Cell Applications, Composite and Dense Membranes for Pervaporation Applications, Polymeric Nonlinear Optical (NLO) Materials for Optonic Devices, Liquid Crystalline Polymers for Optical Devices and Development of Nanofibers for Tissue Engineering Applications, Development of Polymeric Carriers for Tumor Targeted Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) and Supercapacitors. So far, he has guided 13 students for Ph. D. degree and two students for M. Phil degree. Presently 9 students are pursuing Ph. D. degree under his guidance and one student is doing Post-Doctoral study. Considering his research contribution Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka conferred him Sir C. V. Raman Young Scientist State Award in 2010. He was awarded the Best research publication Award in 2011 form Vision Group of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. Also, he has received the Best Research Publication Award from Karnatak University, Dharwad in 2015 among the Science Faculty. Very recently, he was awarded the Adhayapaka Bhushana Award by Karnatak Adhyapak Parishad (KAP) and Karnataka Rajya Madhyamik Shikshaka Sangha.
