Potential Indoor Air Treatments to Prevent Disease Transmission
Arguably, the defining element of terrestrial life is respiration, the air that we breathe. Most if not all self-aware respiratory organisms take this for granted, but the last several years have seen this paradigm turned on its head, as a respiratory pandemic has consumed the global human population, leaving in its wake a trail of death and devastation. This conference comes at a critical time in the pandemic, providing an opportunity to take stock of where we have come from and where we are, to compare notes, to divulge what we have learned thus far, what works and what doesn't work, and what we can propose going forward to secure effective medical care, the health of the air we breathe, indeed our very survival. In this spirit, I welcome you, my colleagues, and allies in this war which remains ongoing. Failure is not an option.

COVID-19 and Respiratory System
The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 emerged as a serious human pathogen in late 2019 which is the cause of the disease COVID-19. The most common clinical presentation of severe COVID-19 is acute respiratory failure consistent with the acute respiratory distress syndrome. In this case airway, lung parenchymal, pulmonary vascular and respiratory neuromuscular disorders all feature in COVID-19. This Respiratory Disease Conference reviews what is known about the effects of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 infection on different parts of the respiratory system to understanding the underlying biology of respiratory disease.

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a condition which will be discussed in the Respiratory Disease Conference in details. In this condition the fluid builds up in lungs, because of which oxygen can’t get to the organs. The fluid starts leaking from small blood vessels and collects in tiny air sacs in lungs so they can’t fill with enough air. Because of which, blood can’t pick up the oxygen which needs to carry to the rest of the body. In this way organs might not work the way they should or might shut down. ARDS is sometimes life-threatening and can get worse quickly, but generally can be treated and most people recover.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a slowly progressive obstruction of airflow into or out of the lungs. Experts have estimated about 32 million persons in the United States have COPD. The disease occurs slightly more often in men than in women. The symptoms come on slowly and many people are consequently diagnosed after age 40-50 although some are diagnosed at a younger age. COPD patients may exhibit symptoms of chronic bronchitis emphysema and asthma.

Cardiopulmonary Disorders
The term cardiopulmonary disease describes a wide range of conditions that affect the heart and lungs and we invite all members to join Cardiopulmonary Disorders Conference to get updated in this field. These organs are closely connected and a problem in one can spill over to the other. For example, when the heart is not able to pump blood efficiently | normal oxygen movement in the lungs is reduced | causing shortness of breath. On the other hand | a problem with the lungs can cause the heart to have to work harder to get oxygen from the lungs into the blood.
Common types of this disease include:

Emerging Issues in Respiratory Diseases
These emerging infections including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS‐CoV), Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS‐CoV) and the pandemic influenza A(H1N1) and avian influenza (AI) viruses have seriously threatened global health and the economy. In this International Conference on Respiratory Disease and Care, we will be focusing on all the challenges and advancements in this field to upgrade our knowledge on Pulmonology Care.

Respiratory Failure and COPD Complications
Respiratory Failure:
Respiratory failure is a condition in which your blood doesn't have enough oxygen and has too much carbon dioxide. Sometimes it has both problems i.e. when you breathe your lungs take in oxygen and the oxygen passes into blood stream, which carries it to other organs. Another part of breathing is removing the carbon dioxide from the blood and breathing it out. Having too much carbon dioxide in your blood can harm your organs. If this imbalanced occurs then it hampers and creates abnormality in lungs leading to respiratory failure.
COPD Complications:
COPD can cause many complications, like:-

Mechanical Ventilation
Mechanical ventilation is a treatment to help a person breathe when they find it difficult or are unable to breathe on their own. Here a mechanical ventilator pushes airflow into the patient’s lungs to help them breathe.

Pulmonary Vascular Disease
Pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) is a broad term including any condition that affects the blood vessels within the lungs. These vessels take blood that is depleted of oxygen to the lungs from the right side of the heart. Deoxygenated blood travels through the pulmonary arteries where oxygen is taken up. The pulmonary veins leave the lungs and take blood rich with oxygen to the left side of the heart where oxygenated blood is distributed throughout the body. This process continually refills the blood with oxygen and lets carbon dioxide be exhaled. A pulmonary vascular disorder can lead to cardiovascular problems as well as damaging the quality of the patient’s life.

Pneumonia
Pneumonia is an inflammatory condition of the lung primarily affecting the small air sacs known as alveoli. Symptoms typically include some combination of productive or dry cough, chest pain, fever and difficulty breathing. The severity of the condition is variable and is usually caused by infection with viruses or bacteria and less commonly by other microorganisms. The disease may be classified by where it was acquired such as community- or hospital-acquired or healthcare-associated pneumonia
